Is it true love or just one of many stories?

Haly asked: Dear Dadrim, how can I know whether the relationship that I am experiencing is really one based on love or is it just one of many stories?

Dadrim replied: My dear Haly, how many times did we talk, you and I, about love and freedom? Many! Yet you are still full of doubts and fears. And your question reveals why you are still living in uncertainty. You're still focused outward, toward the other. You want to understand if the person next to you is in love with you, thereafter perhaps to decide to open your heart. But if you move in this way, the only thing I can tell you with certainty is that your love will never take flight, and that this too will become one of the many stories. Think carefully, because you define the past relationships as "the fuss"? Why your encounters of the past are not named Marco, Francesco, Giulio ..., but are just many stories with neither colour, smell and taste? For me the answer is simple: those are many stories, because you never really lived truly and fully those meetings! (...)
